Today in our 2012 Chevy Equinox, we'll be installing Hidden Hitch, part number 90145. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 4-1/2 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 14 inches. This will assist you in selecting in accessories such as a drawbar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier.
Now, let's go ahead with the installation. First, let's go ahead and point out the attachment points. Starting on the driver's side and the side of the frame, there are two weld nuts and one weld nut in the center of the bumper beam. This will be identical for the passenger's side also. Keep in mind.
Each process we do here on the driver's side will get repeated identically on the passenger's side. Let's go ahead and remove the rear fascia door. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, I can press the two tabs together and then pop the rear fascia door free. We'll go ahead and set that aside. With this application, we will not be able to reinstall it.
Next, we need to clean out the weld nuts. First, we'll spray them down with some spray lubricant. We'll use a 1/2-inch nylon tube brush, part number 814092. Thoroughly clean the weld nuts out and then I'll go ahead and take one of the new bolts and thread it into the weld nut to make sure they go nice and smoothly. Now, we're ready to go ahead and install the hitch.
It's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch while you install your fasteners. For our weld nuts, we'll be using the new 12-mm bolt and conical toothed washer with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch. Now with all our fasteners in place, we can go ahead and tighten them down. Next, we'll go ahead and torque to specification as indicated in the instructions. Now with all our fasteners torque to specification, that will complete the install of our Hidden Hitch, part number 90145 on our 2012 Chevy Equinox.

Drawbar, pin and clip included.I purchased the 1 1/4" Hidden Hitch for my daughter's 2012 GMC Terrain. LOVE IT!!! Saved me over 200.00 compared to same part from our local GM Dealer. The e-trailer hitch arrived in 4 days, and was super easy to install!! (Did it myself and saved another 50.00!) Like most of the reviews I read before my purchase, the shipping box was damaged and the "arms" of the hitch bar were protruding from the box. But, no damage to the equipment and everything went together like a charm!
The hitch did not fit perfectly. I had to hammer the ends of the brackets to fit over the frame rails of the cold. After doing that, the hitch fit fine and bolts went in and hitch was secured. Some of the paint was also chipping off the hitch upon delivery. Overall, the function of the hitch will not be affected. Hidden Hitch is a well respected brand, and when I do tow with this hitch, i expect it to do its job, worry free.
Just got done installing a Hidden Hitch Class II Receiver Hitch on my 2011 GMC Terrain. Received the unit super quick from etrailer.com.Their customer service is second to none!! The hitch was easy to install (by myself). I just used my floor jack to support the hitch until I could get the bolts started. These guys know what they're doing!! Five Stars!!

Nice looking hitch2007 Saturn Vue. I could use longer bolts for the 2 center spots where the bolts are fed through the frame. The feed wires should be 12" longer and need two because the first one gets damaged doing the first bolt. Too bad Saturn doesn't have threaded holes in the frame like they do for the ends. Good paint job by Hidden Hitch and would buy it again.
Easy to install, fits great. This is my third Hidden Hitch, all have fit as advertised. Etrailers prices are great and the hitch only took a few days to get here.
I bought this hitch in order to use a hitch-mount bike rack. It was pretty easy to install. I used some ramps to get more ground clearance for installation and had help from a friend. it is a clean looking unit, nothing ugly sticking out. The installation video was very helpful to watch before we did it.
This hitch is perfect for my Kuat bike rack. The finish is very high quality, installation was easy, and it looks great on the vehicle. It tucks up in the body perfect.
Hitch installed very easy and was of excellent quality. Only issue was that the bolts were the wrong size for the factory installed nuts. Hint to anybody installing:Put a penetrating oil in the factory nuts, then clean them with a wire brush (gun cleaning brush or plumbing brush), then run the bolts in and out prior to holding the hitch in place. I saw some comments that the spring bolt wires were too short, but they are just fine. This issue must have been corrected by the manufacturer.

Very pleased with the Drawtite hitch and alternate wiring harness I ordered for our 2011 Equinox. The hitch install took less than fifty minutes and I was pleased that everything lined up and bolted together with no difficulties. The wiring harness installed in less than 10 minutes. Reviewing the Video's on your web site were a huge help when it came to the wire harness. By ordering everything from your company saved us 400.00 from a dealer install.
Excellent! I could not be more pleased. The hitch arrived quickly and was well-packed. Installation was a breeze. The installation video was spot-on accurate and helpful. All the parts and instructions needed were present. The wires for threading the bolt and metal part into the bumper were exactly the right length -simple, fast and easy to do.

Even though the vehicle looks fine with the little hitch trim door removed, the instructions included details on how to cut the little hitch trim door to fit around the hitch. I did it and put the little trim door back on - wow! It looks great - an unexpected bonus.

Great Hitch. My wife and I purchased this hitch specifically for mounting a bike rack on our 2012 Chevy Equinox 2LT. I ordered it Aug 9th and received it Aug 11th via 2 day shipping. There are six easy bolts that were extremely easy to install. The hardest part was holding it up. Strongly recommend you install with a partner so there's no chance of stripping or breaking bolts from stress. Some models do not already have all the holes needed but there is extra hardware for this. Fortunately ours was equipped with all 6 holes and I installed it in about 25 minutes with my wife's assistance. It's very stable and neat. Also, ensure you do it right and torque it within. Very happy with this purchase.
installed this Hitch (#36408) on my 2011 GMC Terrain the next day (7/6/11) and all went very well except that I had to bend the passenger-side upright support about one inch outward, in order to fit in place and bolt in.
The hitch may have been dropped on that side during shipping and was sticking out from the carton, but I was able to straighten it out to fit...all is perfect!
Installation was a Breeze, no help, completed myself. Product ultra durable, easy to install, looks great. Pleased with how everything lined up well. Pull wire to feed block and bolt through bumper frame needs to be 6" longer. Only complaint. Used a coat hanger to add length. Would recommend if you want a hitch...and don't want to get ripped off at a dealer.
On time delivery. Concern as to package condition upon receipt alleviated as all parts were accounted for and in operational condition. Installation was easier after watching videos from website. Printed instructions not very clear. All in all an excellent product at a very good price. Thank you.

Hitch installed perfectly! No issues what so ever. I don't know who invented the wiring harness but they are a genius! I've never wired up a car so easily. It literally took me maybe 10 minutes start to finish.
Needed an M12 x 1.75 tap to clean out the rusty nuts welded on the Equinox. After that, install was a breeze. Hitch looks great!
unfortunatly I have been unable to put the hitch to use. Unforseen events, the hi temoertures and a few other things did not give me the opportunity to trailer my boat to go fishing. I hope this year will ndifferant & try out the hitch. That being said, the product & the installation & instructions were just great & that's a good thing. I will return with an upgrade in the future to give va response to you
